On Saturday December 3rd we will be holding a Christmas Craft Fair. The Stalls will be stocked with a wide range of excellent products so that Christmas Shopping could be completed in one day!
Admission is free and the Fair will be open between 11am and 4pm with the official opening being performed by Alderman Dave Tyler, President of the Wall Heath Community Association.
Wall Heath Community Association are staging a Heritage Day at the village Community Centre on Saturday 13th November 2021, admission is FREE. Almost two hundred photographs will be on display showing what life was like in the community in the past with some photographs almost one hundred years old. That number of photographs means that on show will be buildings which have long since felt the force of the demolition hammer. In addition groups from around the village have supplied photographs of their members, past and present, so that the number of faces runs into several hundred. Village groups have also been invited to have their own display. Support from the Community has been very encouraging with over thirty individuals, groups and businesses agreeing to part sponsor the event. The Heritage Day will be open from 11.00am until 4pm with the opening ceremony being performed at 11.30am by The President of the Community Association, Dave Tyler.

The Trustees of the Community Association have agreed a pathway to reopen the Community Centre which due to Covid restrictions has been closed since March 2020.
Current Private Hirers will be welcomed back from 1 July 2021.
The Community Association run Groups will return from 1 September 2021.
These arrangements are subject to any Government restrictions which may be introduced prior to those dates.
Although the population may have been in Lockdown nature takes no account of such restrictions as the attached photographs show. This is the display in Enville Road surrounding the Community Association’s notice board and we are grateful to Hayden Kilkelly (HK) for arranging for the garden area to be maintained to add to the appeal of the village.
The Annual General Meeting of Wall Heath Community Association will be held on Tuesday 9 March 2021 at 10am.

The annual Skittles Evening was again a “sell out”. The winners, pictured below, were Bob Harbon and Jill Smith with Community Association vice chairman , Colin Smith also getting in on the photo opportunity!
On Saturday November 16th Wall Heath Community Association held it’s first Christmas Craft Fair at the Community Centre and what a success it was! Although an accurate count was not possible it is estimated that over seven hundred people attended. The majority of those who came along were from the village although the event also attracted visitors from the surrounding districts and beyond. Stallholders and visitors went away happy and enquiries have already been received for next year’s Fair.
A “walk round Wall Heath” was well received with tickets limited to twenty five to ensure that the walkers gained maximum input from the walk leader, John Sparry.
Commencing at the Community Centre John outlined the progress made by the Community Centre since it’s initial life in a couple of huts which had also provided accommodation for the Land Army Girls.
Proceeding across the playing field the walkers paused to cross High Street by the Wall Heath Inn , difficult to believe that less than sixty years ago steam trains passed over the A449 on the way to delivering coal to Ashwood Basin.
The basic history of St Andrew’s Church was imported before proceeding to the junction of The Parade with Foundry Road where we learned that Yew Tree Cottage was the first village school.
Along Foundry Road several landmarks of relevance were pointed out before turning into Dudley Road where John told us about the building of Grove Park and the village schools.
Walking down Enville Road we learned of the building of the Shopping Precinct and reaching Chapel Street the building used as a Chapel over a hundred years ago is still standing.
The many and varied attractions available at the long demolished Yew Tree, were a source of amazement.
Our walk concluded with tea and home made cakes, provided by members of the committee of the Community Association.
The Annual Spring Fayre was held at Wall Heath Community Centre on Saturday 11 May 2019 and was a great success.

Another innovative move by the Community Association was to stage a Craft Fair after a lapse of more than ten years.
The event took place on Saturday 1 December 2018 and with twenty stalls displaying high quality home made merchandise there was much to grab the attention of those who attended and it is estimated that almost two hundred and fifty people took the advantage of being able to purchase Christmas gifts.
Children were not forgotten with a face painter and a magician on hand to entertain the many children who came along.
Plans are already in hand to make this successful enterprise an annual event.
Wall Heath Community Association craft fayre will be held at Wall Heath Community Centre on Saturday 1st December 2018 from 1pm until 4pm.
There will be a variety of stalls plus a Children’s Entertainer.
Refreshments will be available and admission is free.
